Q: i turn off pump and water siphons back to pool. is there detriment to check valve between pump and filter?
A: no but probably no need
skimmer to pump air leak probably causing it
very unlikely but possible underground leak

Heater

2025-05-12 Things to check if heater doesn't fire

• bump filter
• clean filter on pump inlet
• clean skimmer boxes
• wait 30+ seconds
  • earlier this year, it was taking a really long time to fire after thermostat makes; not currently doing it
• May 12th 2025 9:18 a.m. it seemed like tapping the access panel cause the heater to turn on but there is no access panel switch.
  • Is it somehow twerking the frame or in some other way causing connectors to short when it is inserted that makes it work when it is fully inserted?
  • might have been coincidental timing waiting the 30+ seconds?

  • i only hand tightened the bolts on the filter housing using 2 nut drivers (and no socket ratchet)
    • was leaking but I figured I would get to it later
    • heater wasn't firing, after using socket ratchet to tighten the filter top, the heater fired immediately upon the pump being turned on
