In a carbureted engine equipped with an accelerator pump (which advances fuel flow to match air ingestion under rapid throttle acceleration), 'pumping' the throttle will force excess fuel into the engine, further flooding it.

this hotrodders thread is discussing manual choke (that I think the Monte has but the Vette has electric choke i think)
"A electric , turn keyon. Pump pedal to set choke idle cam. A second wot pump will release the hhigh idle cam."
maybe this is my interpretation "[w elec choke] just turn the key and drive away. Maybe need to step on the gas to set the fast idle if its really cold"

one person in this post may be willing to share the Al Knoch video (which isn't available on corvettecentral until ~2023-02-28); one person hates his tops and like Robbins Auto tops, but they don't seem to make one for the C3 generation anymore.

this post references a conversion from coupe to convertible in a google photos album. The link to the Al Knoch video is about half way done on the left column, look for the company logo.
at least one reply in the post says the Rowley's page uses contact cement and that isn't a good idea

while you can always do better if you spend the money the 010's have always been considered to be agood block to use.your block was used probably about as much as any chevy block ever was used from april or may 69' through 75'.it came in 2&4 bolt mains and was used extensively in trucks.also corvette,camaro,chevelle,nova,montecarlo's and pass.look at your oil filter housing and see if there is an 010 020 this will tell you that the block was made with an extra i percent tin and two percent nickle content and that means its very desirable for a perf. block.if not don't worry about it unless you're looking for more than five hundred horse.these numbers will be behind your timing cain cover also.but you can look at the oil filter housing with out disasembling anything. the mexican crate motors were made extra h.d.how are they not good?the mexican motor is 10066036.

However, the system hose connection diagram on that web site is WRONG as it has the headlight switch hose connections REVERSED. A corrected version of that diagram is shown in Figure 4.
    - and a commenter replied: A little memory tool I use is back to bottom, as in back of the headlight switch to the bottom of the override switch.
